Van Darrell Johnson

A Bardstown resident, Mr. Van Darrell Johnson, age 82 passed away, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1943, in Nelson County to the late Herman and Monzell McCubbins Johnson. He worked at American Air Filtering for a number of years and then later at Barton's Distillery. He enjoyed shooting pool and hunting. Van attended Mt. Washington Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lonny Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Judy Lyvers, Lola Jane Brown, William Smith, and Joann Janes. He is survived by his wife Joann Morris Johnson, two sons, Timmy (Becky) Johnson, Scott (Peggy) Johnson, two brothers, Arthur (Glenna) Smith, Basil (Annie) Smith all of Bardstown, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Van Darrell Johnson will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown, Bro. Josh Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Bardstown cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am Wednesday until the time of service. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
