Van McKee, 64, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Maysville on February 6, 1961, Van was the son of the late Arthur Earl McKee and the late Ella Nora Boyd McKee.

Van had worked for East Kentucky Power for 20 years. He had served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his three daughters, Vanielle McKee, Lindsey McKee, and Victoria McKee; the mother of his children, Peggy Hedrix; his five grandchildren, Garryon McClain, Jamyia Black, Vaeshawn McKee, Zeke Harris, and Jahir Johnson; and his very special dog, Callie. Van is also survived by one of his sisters, Denise (Tyrone) Sturdivant; his four brothers, Terry (Edna) McKee, Aaron (Patricia) McKee, Tim McKee, and Kirk (Terri Lynn) McKee; special friend, Stephanie; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his mother Nora; his father Arthur; Van was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" McKee.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.

Burial for Van will be private.

In place of flowers, please consider a donation memory of Van to the Cancer Care Club (P O Box 189, Flemingsburg KY 41041).
