Vance R. Lauber 72, of Malone passed away on July 14, 2025 at Alice Hyde Medical Center with his family by his side, after a lengthy illness. Graveside service for Vance will be held on July 18, 2025 at the Morningside Cemetery, Raymond Street Malone at 3pm with Pastor Derek Trudell officiating. The Lauber family has put the trust of their loved one in the care of Frary Funeral Home, Malone.

Vance was born on April 12, 1953 in Geneva, NY to the late Robert and Carol (Smith) Lauber. He attended Carthage Central School and graduated from there in 1972. In the early 1980's Vance went to work for King's Restaurant in Malone as a busboy. He really liked working in the restaurant so much that he made it his career and moved up to being a cook. He stayed with this restaurant when it changed hands and became Jammer's. When his boss, Jeffrey passed away Vance took this hard and decided that it was time to retire and he did do that in 1999. Although Vance was a quiet man, he was well liked by all who he came into contact with. He enjoyed being out in nature when he could, fishing and hunting. He also loved to sit and watch Nascar.

Vance is survived by his brothers; Norman (Bruce) and Sheila Lauber of Malone, Jeremy Lauber of Dickinson, and Shannon Lauber of Alabama. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, David (2006).

Memorial contributions can be made to Alice Hyde office of Philanthropy 133 Park Street, Malone, NY 12953
