We gather here today in love, sorrow, and faith to honor the life of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend-Vanessa Renee Jaramillo. Born and raised in Las Vegas and Anton Chico, New Mexico, Vanessa returned to the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, due to a brain aneurysm. While her passing has left a deep sorrow in our hearts, we take comfort in knowing that she now sits at the right hand of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Vanessa was a strong and beautiful young woman-full of life, compassion, and a light that touched all who knew her. She wore many hats throughout her short yet impactful life: a devoted daughter, a protective sister, a loving aunt, a loyal friend, and an extraordinary athlete. Vanessa was tech-savvy and always eager to lend a helping hand. She would go out of her way to help the homeless, children, and anyone in need. No matter the circumstance, Vanessa was there-with her heart wide open and a spirit grounded in kindness.
She spent part of her childhood in Santa Rosa, NM, where she began working at the early age of 12 at the local "T&D" grocery store. Her incredible work ethic and sincere people skills left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Vanessa had a smile that stretched from cheek to cheek-a smile that could light up the darkest room.
Her greatest joy was found on the softball field. She was a dedicated athlete, always the first to show up for practice and the last to leave. She loved the game and everything it taught her-discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Watching her play filled our hearts with pride. She gave her all in everything she did.
Even in death, Vanessa gave the gift of life-as an organ donor, she saved multiple lives with her donation. Her compassion, generosity, and love continue to ripple through the world. Her legacy lives on, not only in those she saved but in each of us who were blessed to know her.
Vanessa was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Roberto Jaramillo; maternal grandparents, Julio and Oralia Montano; her cousin, Veronica Garcia; twin nephews, Donald and Juan Jr. Jaramillo; her cousin, Irisa Montano, and her aunt, Deborah Montano.
She is survived by her loving parents, Juan and Ramona Jaramillo (Daniel Galindre); her siblings, Jonathan Jaramillo (Lindsey), Brandon "Legend" Jaramillo, Chachi Galindre, and Amber Jaramillo (Eleazar); her nieces Layla and Leticia Jaramillo; and her nephew Nicholas Jaramillo; special aunt Judy Montano; grandmother, Chavela Jaramillo; best friend, Donna Silva, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Vanessa leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering compassion. Though her time with us was far too short, we give thanks to the Lord for lending her to us. She taught us to love harder, live stronger, and never take a single day for granted. There will never be a day we do not think of her, miss her, and thank God for the time we shared. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Rosary will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12th at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Upper Anton Chico Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary 600 Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas, NM 87701, 505-425-3511 or 1-800-479-3511.
