Vanessa Joyce McFarland

On the twenty-fourth day of October nineteen hundred sixty, God created a strong and loving soul through the blessed union of the late Marshall Lange, Sr. and Ozell Davis Lange in Pattison, Texas (Waller County). Through her parents guidance, Vanessa Joyce Lange-McFarland grew to be loving, fearless, woman of faith. However, on the twentieth day of August, God decided to call Vanessa from labor to rest.
Her Faith Vanessa accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. S he was a loyal and faithful member of Hightime Evangelistic Center now Renew Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Bennie B. McFarland until the summer of 1993. Vanessa loved working in the media ministry Tape Counter where she assists members in getting the latest message from that Sunday and Thursday night. She later moved to her membership to St. Anthony MBC where she remained a member under the leadership of the late Reverend James Williams.
Her Love. On Saturday, September 22, 1984, Vanessa joined her life with Jonathan Honore McFarland, Sr. and the two shared thirty-three years of love. God blessed them with two children Jonathan Jr., and Nathan McFarland. On this Journey of Life, she and her husband enjoyed traveling with their sons, watching sports, and working to support their children in every way possible.
Her Career Vanessa was known as a Top Tier Waitress and Lead Cook! She loved serving tables and meeting new people while working at Denny s Restaurant. She had a daily goal of tips that she wanted to make, and she achieved that daily. But after 20 plus years of waiting tables, she decided to change careers and become a Cook. She maintained two jobs to support her family and became a cook at Belmont Village Senior Living. Shortly afterwards, Vanessa left Belmont Village and started a full-time job as a Cook at Brookdale Senior Living where she worked until her health failed on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan H. McFarland, Sr; parents, Marshall Lange, Sr. and Ozell Lange Davis; brothers, Clarence Lange, Marshall Lange, Jr., Forest Lee Lange, sisters, Wilma J. Lange-Perkins, Ruth Davis, and Jerrye Griffins; mother-in-law, Irene M. Early McFarland; brother-in-law, Rev. Bennie B. McFarland; nephews, Rodney Lange and Edward Lange.
Vanessa leaves to cherish her memories: Sons Jonathan Honore McFarland Jr. (Monique), Nathan Jerome McFarland; Granddaughter Taylor Irene-Mae McFarland; Sisters Reta Perkins (David), Gladis Lange (Willie), Hattie Pierre (Adam), Darlene Lange; Brother Cleon Davis, Sr. God-Children Stavell Early and Teaea Little; Sister-in-laws, Miriam C. McFarland, Precious Horton (Marvin) and Eunice Tolliver, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
