Vanice Marie Dotson, 76, of Dyersburg, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born April 11, 1948, she is the daughter of the late Pete Kolwyck (Ellaine) and Annie Lois Asbridge Kolwyck. She was a homemaker. She was a caregiver for many years and formerly worked at Thomas Industries, Heckethorn Manufacturing and Chuppa Knife.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Billy Tucker with interment to follow in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Dotson Jackson (Scott) of Dyersburg; three sons, Donald Dotson (Tammy), Lynn Dotson (Demetra), Cody Dotson (Mandi), all of Dyersburg; four sisters, Charlotte Hunter, Hazel Stallings, both of Dyersburg, Christine Barr, Pauline Morgan, both of Paris,; three brothers, Ray Kolwyck of Dyersburg, Pat Williams of Munford, Johnny Dotson of Memphis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Cullen Jones, Kevin Fair, Mike Hunter, Jordan Adcock, Richie Gammons and Marty McGuire will serve as pallbearers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger LaDon Dotson; two sisters, Doris Escue, Louise Tucker; and two brothers, Frank Kolwyck, Darrell Kolwyck; her son in law, Mr. Chris Davenport; and her sister in law, JoAnn Harbor.
