Vanice Clifford Phillips was born on December 20, 1939, in St. Joe, AR to Johnnie and Lois Phillips and departed from this world on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Van is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce; his daughters, Lori Blankenship and husband Jerry, Lesa Thomas and husband, Pete; grandchildren, Katie Fatum and husband, Alex, Brandon Thomas, Justin Blankenship, Cody Thomas and wife, Shaley; great grandchildren, Wyatt Fatum and Oliver Fatum.

Van was one of 12 siblings, with 7 brothers and 4 sisters. He shared a deep bond with his family. One of his favorite times of the year was Thanksgiving where he would get together with his siblings and their families to celebrate. Van’s life journey took him from St. Joe, AR to Wichita, KS where he attended high school and met the love of his life Joyce. They married on December 27, 1960. After their girls were born, Van and Joyce moved the family to Bedford, TX where they raised their girls and later moved to Colleyville, TX when they became empty nesters. Van enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, sports, gardening and later antiquing with Joyce. Van was the first to be there when someone needed a helping hand. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
