Mrs. Velma Chambers, 91, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born June 20, 1932, in Mcdonald, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Robert Carr and Thelma Carr.
Velma loved everyone and made sure that those around her felt special. She took great pleasure in being a wife, a mother, and grandmother. Velma could always be found taking care of her home and her family. She will leave a lasting impression on everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Velma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Olin Chambers, her infant son; brothers, Johnny Carr and Bill Carr and her sister Betty Loftin; and three grandchildren, Dana Parrish, Jimmy Parrish and Christopher Williams
She is survived by her children, Eva Chambers, Nancy & Bob Kaylor, David & Sandy Chambers, Beverly & David Aderhold and Teresa & Mike Williams; grandchildren, Tracy Jernigan, Wesley Jernigan, Greg Jernigan, Josh Latson, Christina Jones, Robin Aderhold, Brandy Anderson, Lee Turner, Derrick Chambers, Chris Caraway, Starr McGlasson, Chanel Leitch, Andrea Forbes, Laura Sadler, and Jonathan Williams; 30 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Williams, Pastor David Aderhold, Pastor Jacob Day and Pastor Gary Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until the hour of service.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Matthew Green, Adam Littleton, Patrick Jennings, Matthew Huckeba, Ricky Powers and Richard Littleton.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that Memorial Contributions be made in Mrs. Chamber's memory to PO Box 215, Carrollton, Ga. 30112. These funds are to be used in her memory and distributed to her favorite charities. For electronic contributions please call 770-836-1466.
