Velma Kay (Fiedler) Juillerat, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, July 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. As were Velma's wishes a private burial will take place in the Fielder Cemetery near Eldon. No services are planned at this time. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Velma was raised on a rural farm along with her four sisters and three brothers. She attended a one room schoolhouse up until the 8th grade, then she transferred into what her family called the "city schools" She graduated from Cardinal High School of Eldon in 1961, soon after she joined the Navy, where she met and married my dad Herbert L Juillerat [November 1, 1941, to February 2020] in Memphis Tennessee in March of 1962 and had one daughter Eva M. Henry {Daniel Henry} of East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania.
Velma has had a life of holding many job titles and positions; from being a supportive mom, Grandma, and aunt to many family members those of blood and those of the heart. She has worked as a Patient Care Assistant, School Bus Driver, Sunday School Teacher as well as the bus driver for her church. She has also been a cashier, Child Care Teacher/Provider, a mentor and a rock to those around her.
Velma was strong in her faith, and in her belief of God. She was baptized in Jesus name at Emmanuel Tabernacle Church UPCI soon after moving to Virginia Beach. She believed in the power of prayer. studying the Bible and tried her best to be an example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She would always say "Your life might be the only Bible that some people read or see". Her most famous statements were "Have you prayed About it?" "What Does God Say About it?" "Would God Approve?" "Is it worth Going to Hell For?" The group Casting Crowns has a song Titled "Only Jesus" that can sum up my mom's view point it goes -I don't want to leave a legacy; I don't care if they remember me, Only Jesus.
Velma has four Grandchildren Daniel Henry Jr {Michelle} in Oklahoma, David Henry {Stephanie} Washington, Dennis Henry {Allyssa} in Washington and Douglas Henry {Courtney} in Virginia. She has seven great grandchildren Ryan, Logan, Ashlynn, Kamdyn, Sawyer, Avery, Alvin plus Thorin who is due in October. She has two remaining sisters, Majorie Van Depol of Blakesburg IA, Ruth Sheldon of Moravia IA, two remaining brothers Richard Fiedler {Grace} of Eldon IA, Orville Fiedler {Connie} of Eldon IA.
She is Preceded in death by her husband, her parents Henry and Gwen Fiedler, Her Father and Mother-in-Law Ernest and Bertha {Altamus} Juillerat, two sisters Mertic Cary and Terrie Fiedler, and one brother Leonard Fiedler.
