Velta Uvonne Baldwin, 86, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2022. Velta was born on December 31, 1935, to Charles and Willie Bell Shepherd in Dallas, TX. She married Hugh Ripley Baldwin in 1955 and they were together a loving 50 years before he passed away in 2005. Velta worked for the Kaufman Tax office and the Kaufman County Clerks office of many years. She was a member of the Ola Church of Christ where she was a part of the sewing club. They would sew scarfs and covers for people with cancer and any other type of clothing that people needed. Velta was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister. Her husband, Hugh, parents Charles and Willie Bell, and siblings: Cora Ellen Prestridge, Jessie Mae Ramsey and Bobby Emanuel Shepherd preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Hugh Stephen Baldwin and wife Diane and Harold Timothy Baldwin; grandson Hugh O’Neal Baldwin, granddaughter Jessica Morgan and husband Adam, great grandchildren: Kimber Pearl Morgan and Trigger Caleb Morgan; siblings: Charlie Wayne Shepherd and wife Nereida, Oleta Snowden and husband Dean and Jimmy Ray Shepherd and wife Barbara; sister-in-law Gloria Shepherd, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
