Velva “Mae” Smith passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Royalton Manor surrounded by family.
A graveside service and burial took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda officiated by Brother John Baird.
Mae was born in Pomona, IL on July 3, 1926 the daughter of the late Tice and Nila (Caraker) Braggs. On April 4, 1950 she married Ervin Smith and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1986.
Mae is survived by her children: Don Smith, Roy (Rose) Smith, and Elwin Smith; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Smith; grandson, Joshua Smith; and all six siblings.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
