David Sutherland Obituary
David Carl Sutherland Sr., 89, of Bridgman, formerly of Saint Joseph, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, Saint Joseph.
A family graveside service was held at Riverview Cemetery, Saint Joseph. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
David was born on February 23, 1936 in Saint Joseph, the son of the late Carl and Mary (Spellman) Frobel. David retired from the Berrien County Sheriff's Office in 1981. He also operated his own welding business. David loved boating, fishing, and being outdoors.
Survivors include children: David (Debra) Sutherland Jr., Richard Sutherland, Timothy (Jody) Sutherland, and Joshua (Lisa) Sutherland; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Story.
David was preceded death by his sister, Debbie Rosenthal; and brothers: Steve and Keith Sutherland.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
