TEXAS - B. V. Ramana Murty, fondly known as Nannalu, passed away peacefully in 2025 in Boston, USA, leaving behind an enduring legacy of sincerity, service, and inspiration.

Born in 1940 during the turbulence of the Second World War, he grew up in Bhimunipatnam, India and later Visakhapatnam amidst wartime evacuations, economic hardship, and the Bengal famine. Despite these challenges, he pursued education with determination, ultimately attaining Bachelors degree in Finance, Cost and Management Accounting, Bachelors in Law and Company Secretaries, a rare academic accomplishment in India during 1960s. He began his career at Hindustan Shipyard before moving to BHEL, Ramachandrapuram, where he continued his studies while working.

In 1964, he married Sesha Kamala, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond of love and partnership that remained strong for over six decades. Professionally, he rose to prominence in finance and administration, serving in Tamil Nadu Chromites & Chemicals, Punjab National Bank, and later as Director at APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation). Under his stewardship, APIIC became financially strong and instrumental in many landmark projects including HITEC City (Cyber Towers), Parawada Pharma City, Gangavaram Port, and several industrial estates across Andhra Pradesh. His principled leadership earned him two rare service extensions by the State Government and recognition from towering national leaders of India such as N. T Rama Rao, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, K. Rosaiah, and N. Chandrababu Naidu – the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State in India. From 1999 to 2022, He led Patancheru Enviro Tech Ltd (PETL), Jeedimetla Enviro Tech, and Hyderabad Pharma Ltd, playing a pivotal role in ensuring environmental safeguards for the state’s pharma industry — a contribution that saved the sector from Supreme Court-mandated closure.

Remarkably, he continued to serve as Managing Director of PETL until the age of 83. A building on its campus proudly bears his name: “B. V. Ramana Murty Bhavan.” In recognition of his professional stature, he rose to become National President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, B. V. Ramana Murty was a guiding force in the family. He provided shelter, education, and mentorship to many relatives, always living within his means yet offering generosity when it mattered most. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was profound, and his quiet acts of support extended to friends, colleagues, and the wider community. In later years, his life took on a deeper spiritual dimension. Though not overtly ritualistic, he embodied the principle of “Work is Worship” and gradually immersed himself in bhagavannama smarana (chanting of the Divine Name). His daily prayers, walks, and devotion completed his journey as a “paripoorna jeevita” — a life of fullness. He is survived by his beloved wife Sesha Kamala, his children (Late Madhavi, Shanti and Raja Sekhar) and grandchildren, and an extended family that cherishes his memory. His life will be remembered as a shining example of honesty, integrity, humility, and selfless service — truly a legacy for future generations.
