Veora Marsh aka "The Candy Man" joined the Heavenly hosts on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Veora Marsh was born to the late Elijah and Essie (Baucom) Marsh in
Lonoke, Arkansas on January 5, 1933. Veora was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to all whose lives he touched.
Veora was married on April 25, 1959, to Pearlie (Miller) Marsh and they spent sixty-six wonderful years together.
Veora accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of Bell Grove Baptist Church in
Lonoke, Arkansas. Later in life, Veora joined the Will of God Family Church in Pearland, Texas. Over the years, he attended Peoples Missionary Baptist Church with his precious wife Pearlie.
Veora worked for Ashtabula Box Socket Company, Tannery Hill, Car Wash and most recently volunteered at G.O, Ministries. Veora retired from RMI Titanium Company Former Sodium Plant.
He enjoyed detailing cars! You could depend on The Candy Man to have a well-groomed vehicle, his cars were always fresh, clean, and sporty. His other hobby was jogging. He would jog to work or simply jog on the road keeping his body fit-at 92 he managed to have a hard body all of his life. He also competed as an amateur boxer.
Another one of his favorite hobbies was to give school supplies to children in need from Bonniewood to Bunker Hill. Every month he would distribute food boxes to the needy. In fact, he loved helping the elderly by performing lawn care, shoveling their driveway, walkway and taking them to the grocery store. The Candy Man was known for scheduling appointments and assisting others to find transportation- he bypassed father time in so many ways. A man willing to assist others when, at his age, he could have needed help!
Veora loved counseling and advising people about life and accepting things at face value. His grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood youth knew he had a word of wisdom for anyone willing to listen and learn how to be successful. The respect was shown after his granddaughter, named her son after Veora; his great grandson's name is, Jai'Veora-V got his flowers while he was here. He was Mr. GQ and the epitome of masculinity, a man that loved to dress from his head to his toe. He was an OG that dazzled and blinged everywhere he went!
He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Robert (Ollie) Miller of Louisville, Mississippi, Queen Marsh of
Ashtabula, Ohio, Deora (Gabriella) Marsh of Ballina, Ireland, and Jeannette Marsh of Columbus, Ohio; Eight beloved grandchildren, Timothy (Keyon) Edward of Fort Wort, Texas, Daniella (Ameka) Coleman of Brandon, Mississippi, Kimeil (Rebeca) and I'Eshia Marsh of Columbus, Ohio, Tia Miller of Louisville, Mississippi, Lamar, Sebai, and Tyra Marsh of Ballina, Co Mayo Ireland; eleven precious great-grandchildren; sisters, Lesmon Lampkin of Little Rock, Arkansas, Essie Keys of Pearland, Texas, Betty (Allen) Herring of Chicotoboge, Mississippi; God children: Beverly (Darryl) McCorvey of
