Mrs. Vera Baker Boleman, 103, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born on December 31, 1919 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Baker and Avis Osborne Baker. Mrs. Boleman was a seamstress for the Hartwell Garment Company for over 30 years and a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church, where she was a former member of the Golden Agers, and a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her daughter: Phyllis B. Martin (Bob) of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Rick L. Ayers (Phyllis) and Greg L. Ayers (Brandi); seven great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Boleman is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Henry Boleman; two brothers: Louie and James Baker; and three sisters: Geraldine Dye, Margie Payne, and Louise Broach.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 21, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of Phyllis and Bob Martin, Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Boleman will be Monday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Eric Boyd and Rev. Ken Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Reed Creek Baptist Church, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
