WAPPINGERS FALLS - Vera M. Cook, 87, an area resident for the last 7 years, died on February 1, 2025 at the Grand at Pawling. She previously resided in the Village of Millbrook for over 25 years.
Born in Manhattan on May 20, 1937, Vera was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Carlson. She had been employed as a bookkeeper in Croton for many years. Most recently, she enjoyed working as an aide for Greystone Programs in Dutchess County, where she was able to provide a meaningful impact on the lives of many but one specific individual she held extremely close to her heart with the rest of their family.
She was a previous parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in the Village of Millbrook where she enjoyed volunteering as a CCD teacher for many years. More than anything, Vera will be remembered as a one of a kind individual with an outstanding sense of humor and a true heart of gold.

In addition to her parents, Vera was also predeceased by her daughters, Carla Robertson and Tammy Cook. In addition to numerous siblings, life long friends and the true love of her life Greg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday February 7, 2025 at 10:45 am at St. Barnabas Church, 409 E 241 Street, Bronx.
