Carl Abrams Obituary

Carl Abrams, 94, a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction for 55 years and originally from the Bronx, New York, passed away on February 8, 2026.

Born in the Bronx on March 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Abraham and Frances (Schiffman) Abrams. On May 17, 1965, Carl married Hideltrudis "Trudy" Canadilla, the love of his life, who survives him.

Carl led a varied and entrepreneurial professional life, pursuing many ventures throughout his years. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, golfing and spending time with family and friends, and he especially loved sharing stories from his life and experiences with those around him.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Lynn and Chris Beal, Scott and Tracie Abrams; his sons, Jerry Abrams and Jeffrey Abrams; and his grandchildren, including Marcus, Amanda, Carly, Chris, Matt, Dan, Katie, and Scotty.

In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his sons, Mark Abrams (survived by his wife Lisa) and Philip Abrams, and by his sister, Lenore Miller.

Carl will be remembered for his stories, his humor, and the moments he shared with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on February 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY, with a service to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, supporting spinal cord injury research and care.
