Vera K. Lauterbach, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, was born on September 23, 1928, in Baltimore, and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 97.
She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Lauterbach Sr.; devoted mother of the late John Lauterbach Jr. (wife Sheila), Grant Lauterbach (wife Sharon), and Craig Lauterbach (wife Cindy); loving grandmother of 13 and step-grandmother of 2; and cherished great-grandmother of 25 and step great-grandmother of 2. She is also survived by three nieces and five nephews.
Vera was predeceased by her granddaughter Laura Lauterbach; her brother Weldon Kelley (wife Vera); her sister Nancy Cardinale (husband Richard); and her parents, George and Eva Kelley.
As a gifted pianist and vocalist, Vera faithfully served in the music ministry at Temple Baptist Church and later as Choir Director for Catonsville Baptist Church. She was a fervent prayer warrior and a dedicated Sunday School teacher whose love for Jesus was both genuine and contagious.
Vera loved her family unconditionally, and they surrounded her with that same love as she stepped from this temporary dwelling into eternity.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1391 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD, with Visitation at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00am.
Interment at Woodlawn cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Friendship Baptist Church.
