WADESBORO - On Saturday, June 8, 2024, her 62nd birthday, Mrs. Vera Clyburn Baucom Lemon passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.
Vera was born June 8, 1962, in Washington, DC and was a daughter of Joe Clyburn and Joann Broadaway. She was lovingly reared and adopted by Elizabeth Baucom.
She was educated in the public schools in Anson County and was a graduate of Bowan High School.
Very enjoyed cooking and simply making sure no one ever went hungry. She also enjoyed listening to music, traveling, styling hair and spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Shanta Baucom, Antoine Baucom (Nicole), Lucretia Baucom, Tiffany Baucom and Bryant Lemon, Jr.; her grandchildren, Lemuel and Quadre Sturdivant, Daswan and Dakwan Cash, Aniya and Ameshia Baucom, Riley Polk, Bryant, Bryson, Brayden and Brennan Lemon, Kandice McNair, Raven Bennett, Dnetria Little, and Jared Liles; her great-grandchildren, Quadre Sturdivant, Jr., Adonis McNair, Amir Cash, Myle Chambers and Zirianna Little; her sisters and brother, Patricia Ledbetter, Renee Britton, Joann Thomas and Bernard Scales; her children of the heart, Tokishi Boggan, Sandra McLendon, Shani Smith, Whitney, Angel and Sherneka Little, Brenda, Barbara and Audrial Little, Nachell and Alecia Hall, Clyde and Telisha Ingram, Legacy Amerson, Robert Blakney, Daphne Tillman & Simona Conrad; her nieces and nephews, Nekia Wilson, Moniqua and Lotosha Williams, Veronica Hough, Yvonda and Averil Thomas, Tasha Smith, Kathy and Terry Crowder, Andre and Terell Williams, Mario Thomas, Cornelious, Rodrick, and Demetrius Crowder; dear and long-time friends, Samantha Tillman, Lisa Smith, Gwen Flowers, Elaine, Edward and Joletha Little, Maggie Butler, Effie Wall, and Peggy Allen and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Joe Clyburn, Jr and Lessie Marsh, her nephew, Jerry Crowder and her companion of 15 years, Freddie Lee Allen.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
Public viewing will be Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family is gathering at the home at 805 Ingram St., Wadesboro.
