Vera Patrice Parrish

Vera Patrice Parrish, 74, of Macon, MO passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Vera was born on August 2, 1949 in Macon, the daughter of Nathan "Nate" and Alma Jean (Yager) Hagan, Jr. She was united in marriage to Terry Lee Parrish on May 27, 1972 in Palmyra, MO. Vera worked at Naval Hospital until she retired, which gained her many life-long friends. She loved reading so much that after retiring she worked and volunteered at the Macon Library. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking for everyone, going on shopping trips, trying different ethnic foods, and watching TikTok. Vera loved her grandchildren so much.
Vera is survived by her husband Terry Parrish, of the home; two children, Pheobe Dutton and her husband Jody of Macon, MO, and Chris Parrish and his wife Ashleigh of Macon, MO; three grandchildren, Lilith (Lily), Jason, and Daliyah. She is also survived by her sister, Leah Beth Nelson and her husband Mike of Macon, MO; one niece, Molly Nelson; one nephew, Travis Nelson and his wife Brenda; and of course, her very best friend of over 40 years, Deanna Roach (who has been with her through thick and thin) and her children, Michael Clark and Jennifer Villaneuva. And then you have Hannah Banana, the first grandbaby to both these women.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-granddaughter,
Isabella "Bella" Neva Shores.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home of Macon, MO.
