Vera Rettmann, age 75 of Hutchinson, died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop with Pastor Bob Miner officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stewart.

Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Thursday, prior to the service at church.

Vera is survived by her son, Andy (Nickie) Rettmann of Winthrop; grandchildren, Cole, Ella, Ashley (Hunter), Dakota, and Brock; sister, Grace Michalski; brother, Gilbert Towers; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Rettmann; daughters, Laurie, Amy, and Jennifer Rettmann; twin brother, Dave Towers; brothers, Arlan and Arden Kuehn

Vera Katherine Towers was born August 16, 1950 to Gilbert and Alice (Rosenbach) Towers in Germantown, WI. Vera and her twin brother, Dave moved to Stewart where they were raised by their aunt and uncle, Harold and Esther Kuehn. Vera was a graduate of Stewart Public High School. On November 20, 1971, Vera was united in marriage to Lawrence Rettmann at St. Matthew's Lutheran church in Fernando. The two were blessed with one son and three daughters. They raised their family in the Stewart and Winthrop areas. In her earlier years, Vera did factory work in Hector. Later, Lawrence and Vera became owners and operators of their own trucking business. They spent many hours in their truck, working and traveling the lower 48 states together. In her free time, Vera enjoyed shopping, crocheting, puzzles, and her pet dogs. Vera was confirmed at St. Matthew's Lutheran church in Fernando. Her faith was constant and strong throughout her life. She was a long-time member at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
