Verda Mae Englehardt, born on August 1, 1941, in Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on January 30, 2025, in Rose, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Verda led a life characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family and her passionate interests in gardening and fishing.
She married Jimmie Englehardt on July 12, 1961, in Madison County, Arkansas. Their union was filled with love and companionship, which remained strong throughout their many years together. In the later years of her life, Verda dedicated herself to caring for her husband, exemplifying her commitment and nurturing spirit.
Verda is remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her highest priority, and she found joy in tending to their needs. Notably, she had a particular fondness for gardening, often spending hours meticulously cleaning and caring for her tomato plants. This passion for nurturing extended beyond her plants, as she also enjoyed spending hours speaking and spending time with her sister Reta whom she had become very close with, reflecting her innate ability to cultivate love and care within her family.
She is survived by her Husband Jimmie Englehardt of Rose, OK, her children, Son-Matthew Englehardt and his fiancé Sarah Lasater of Salina, OK, and Daughter-Kimberly Hair and her fiancé Clint Holman of Pryor, OK. Verda also leaves behind her Grandchildren, Kelcey and Austin Vann, Brittany Englehardt and Alexis Hair of Salina, OK, Chad and Whitney Englehardt, Wyatt Casto and Emily Casto of Pryor, OK, and Kaira Casto of Tahlequah,OK as well as her brothers, Vernon Chancellor and Earl Chancellor, both of Salina, OK, and Garrett Chancellor of Coweta, OK and her sisters, Reta Whittington, Jeanie Conway, and Lori Conway, all of Rose, OK.
Verda is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Thelma Chancellor; her brothers, Jesse Chancellor and Wayne Chancellor; and her sister, Kathryn Hightower.
