Verda Wyatt Obituary

Verda married Marion (Junior) Wyatt on February 17, 1949. They shared their life together for 48 ½ years, raising their children in the Jay area, sharing work on their farm and working cattle. Verda enjoyed gardening, planting and growing her beautiful flowers, canning, painting, sewing, quilting, dancing, playing her guitar and piano, bowling with her league, and most of all fishing with her sis, Naydean.
Verda is preceded in death by her parents George and Bertha Phillips; her husband Junior Wyatt; son Eugene Wyatt; daughter Marlene Allen; sister Naydean Jackson; 2 brothers Melvin Phillips and Kenneth Phillips.
Verda is survived by one daughter, Leta Morris and husband Gary of Jay, OK; one brother, Doogie Phillips of Locust Grove, OK; her grandchildren Sheila Guinn, Brian Morris and wife Toni, Mindy Ferguson and husband Josh, Marcus Wyatt and wife Jackie, Amy Wyatt, Rick Allen and wife Tonya, Gary Allen, and Michelle Moore; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great- grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends.
Verda's family wishes to extend a special thanks to staff and so many friends for love and friendship during her stay in Monroe Manor. Also to her best buddy Louella Edwards and her precious roommate Joanne Browning.
Verda's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 11:00am, October 9, 2025 at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346. With Pastor James Bryant and Les Newkirk officiating. Followed by Verda's funeral procession to Hickory Grove Cemetery, Grove, OK.
Verda's burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, OK.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
