Verlin F. DeBaker, 92, Green Bay, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at a local nursing facility, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 13, 1933 in Green Bay, son of the late William and Marie (Ropson) DeBaker. Verlin married Patricia McClure, and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2019. Verlin worked as a Machine Operator for Northern Paper/James River Paper, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and feeding chipmunks and squirrels. Verlin was quite the prankster and could always get a good laugh out of everyone.
Suvivors include his 4 children: Christopher (Sandy) DeBaker, Terry (Clyde) Thueringer, Tracey Flannigan, Diane (Patrick) Owens; 6 grandchildren; step-children, Sheri (Matthew) Koller, Brad (Lori) Curtis, Mike Curtis, Lori Widi, Tony (Judy) Curtis, step-grandchildren; best friend, Frank Lied; good friend, Chuck Widi; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Verlin was preceded in death by his parents; wives Patricia, Phyllis and Ann DeBaker; and brothers and sister, Roland, Marvin and Bonnie.
Family and friends may visit Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Green Bay, on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Jose Lopez officiating.
