Verlin Maxwell "Mack" Williams

Verlin Maxwell "Mack" Williams, 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 in his home in the Black Fox Community.
Mack attended Black Fox Elementary School and graduated from Bradley Central High School in the class of 1965. He went to Technical School and trained as a machinist. Mack worked in home construction prior to his 40 years as a forklift operator for Westvaco/Weyerhaeuser/International Paper. He was a resident of Cleveland for 71 years, was of the Methodist faith, and attended Black Fox Methodist Church. Mack was a devoted husband and father who loved to tell stories and make people laugh and smile with his jokes. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt, fish, and simply be outside with nature. In later years, Mack enjoyed watching his game cameras and feeding the deer on his farm. He was a member of the Cleveland Gun club and enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge in the hunter safety classes. Mack was especially close with his brother-in-law, Paul Odom, whom he looked up to and considered a second dad. He loved their time together hunting and fishing, and treasured what Paul taught him. Mack never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mack was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ward Williams; parents, Martin and Lilly Green Williams; brothers: Lester Williams, Ray Williams, Kenneth Williams, John Henry Williams; and sister, Margaret Pierce.
Survivors include his daughter, Crystal (Steve) Crow; grandson, Shane (Sarah) Morrow; special bonus granddaughter, Haleigh (Justin) Knight; great granddaughters: Sadie Morrow, Maddie Knight, and Macoy Knight; sister, Retha Odom; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 from 3-5pm with the funeral service beginning at 5pm in the Poole Funeral Home at 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd NE Cleveland, TN with Kody Foxx officiating.

A private inurnment will be held on the family farm at a later date.
