Verna G. Clenney

Verna Gearldine Clenney, 76, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 18, 2025 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Preston Lee and Frieda (Vanderpool) Thomas she was born July 21, 1948 in Beaver, Oklahoma. Verna and Robert Ray Clenney were united in marriage on March 10, 1971 in Guymon. Verna attended Beaver High School, graduating with the Class of 1966, she then attended beautician school in Liberal, Kansas. She had worked as a waitress in Guymon, and eleven years as activities director at Dunaway Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Frieda Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Ray of the home; daughter, Tammie Kay Martin of Inola, Oklahoma, and son, Darry Wray Woodson and wife, Arron of Spanaway, Washington. Survivors also include grandchildren: Trittnie and husband, Colby, Braidyn and wife, Shelbi, Landon, Shelby and husband, Ryan, and Bailey; great grandchildren: Shadeyn, Ryan, Brynlee, Wyatt, and Macie; brothers: Estel Thomas of Yankton, South Dakota and Mickey Thomas and wife, Betty of Meade, Kansas and special friend, Orville Cumiford. Memorial services will be Monday, June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Bill Newman officiating. Family inurnment will be in the Blue Mound Cemetery, Balko, Oklahoma. The family request memorials be given to Feeding Hearts and Hands.
