Antonio Mungaray Mungaray, lovingly known by many as Secre or Toño, passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 62 in
Guymon, Oklahoma in the comfort of his home surrounded by wife and children.
Antonio was born in Sain Alto, Zacatecas, Mexico, to his mother, Guadalupe Mungaray. He was one of five siblings: Jesús, Roberto, Nieves, and María Cruz.
In 1988, Antonio moved to the United States from his beloved hometown of Sain Alto. For many years, he was a proud resident of Lamar, Colorado, before settling in
Guymon, Oklahoma, where he had lived for the last 10 years. Though he built his life in the U.S., his heart was always tied to Mexico, where he cherished visiting family every chance he could. That was his happiest place.
Antonio married the love of his life, Francisca Gamboa Rojo, with whom he created a beautiful family. Together they raised three children: Alma Gamboa (Alejandro Carrillo), María Mungaray (Josh Miller), and Marco Mungaray (Karina Mungaray). Antonio was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Ezekiel Carrillo, Daisy Miller, Damian Mungaray, Alexis Carrillo, Sebastian Miller, and Kiara Mungaray.
From a young age, Antonio found joy in the game of baseball-a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Baseball wasn't just a pastime; it was in his blood. Beyond the game, he was known as a responsible man, a hard worker, and someone who valued living a simple private life. His love for the game, his devotion to his family, and his enduring connection to his roots defined his life and will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Antonio will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep love for family, and the joy he found in both simple moments and lifelong traditions. His wife and children extend their deepest gratitude to the family members and friends who supported Antonio throughout his cancer journey.
Rosary and Funeral Mass will be Saturday morning, September 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon.
