Verna B. Dean, 92, was born in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama and passed away on December 10,
2025. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sebring and a retired bookkeeper for Grand Union
Food Company in Miami. She and her husband, Wayne, had moved to Lorida in 1988, then to Sebring
in 1990. She humorously declared herself as a member of the “Card-Carrying Klutz Club”. She and
Wayne were preceded in death by his son Wayne Dean, Jr. Her husband passed away in 2005. She is
survived by her children, Marcia Marcum of Sebring, FL; Michael (Anita), Summerville, SC; Lisa
(William) Insinger, Plantation, FL; Sherian (John) Brittle, Rockwood, TN; Gale Dean Spurlock, Spring
Lake, FL; Robert (Cathy) Dean, Summerville, SC. 20 Grandchildren and a tribe of great (and great
great) grandchildren. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please
consider donations to Oneida Baptist Institute, PO Box 67, Oneida, KY 40972; or, Good Shepherd
hospice, Sebring, FL.
