Verna Mary (Sweitzer) Miller Hoffman passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children. She entered her eternal home in Heaven on January 2, 2025. Verna was the wife of the late Paul Gary Hoffman.
Verna was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Morgantown. She volunteered with t Youth Group, managed the church's flower fund, was a representative at the Annual Conference, and volunteered for The Steeple to People Ministries.
Verna was a floral designer and later a manager at The Greenery of Morgantown for many years until her retirement. She was incredibly talented and created beautiful designs.
Verna loved being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening and her trips to the beach. She loved country music and attended local shows. She also traveled to Nashville for the annual Fan Fare for many years. She met many music artists through the years and made several friends.
Verna loved all circle track racing, however her happiest place of all was the pit area of a drag racetrack. Verna traveled all the over the country for NHRA events until she could no longer travel due to health issues. She met many drivers and crew members through the years who became friends. She looked forward to spending time with them every year and was also known for her delicious brownies that she baked for several race teams.
Her Lord and Savior was first in her life and her greatest gifts in the world were her three children, Dennis, Mike, and Lisa.
Celebration of Life will be held 0n Saturday January 11, 2025, at 11:am at Harmony United Methodist Church.740 Harmony Road, Morgantown, Pa Friends and family may visit between 10am and 11am at the church
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to DRAW (Drag Racing Association of Women) or YCRC (York County Racing Club).
