Verna Lee Hurst, 93, of Paducah passed away at 10:35 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.
Mrs. Hurst was a homemaker, Secretary and a member of Immanual Baptist Church in Paducah.
She is survived by her son, Rick (Margaret) Hurst of Reidland; daughter, Pamela Kay Railey of Wilmington, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Tracy (Terri) Railey, Madalin (Chris) Chadwick, Kelly Ladd, Scott (Robin) Hurst, Thomas (Stacy) Kirkham, Laurrelle (Phillip) Couch, Tim Kirkham; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Richard Hurst, Sr.; parents, William Garney McCloud and Willie Goble (Holland) McCloud; one daughter, Penny Lynn Kirkham; one granddaughter, Leigh Anne Hurst; three sisters, Dorothy Nell Golightly, Ella Mae Joyce, Mayme Shoulta; three brothers, William McCloud, Gaylon McCloud, Lacy McCloud.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Andy Bryan and Mike Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
