Verna J. Severan, age 86, departed this life at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Loving wife of the late Mack Severan. Beloved mother of Damon Mack Severan. Grandmother to Da’Mia and Ta’Lia Severan. Daughter of the late Rev. Horace Johnson, Jr. and Luella M. Johnson Hampton. Sister of Percy J. Johnson, Bishop Wilfret Johnson, I, and Rev. Dr. Eugene (June) Johnson of Manvel, Tx., Birdel J. Spears, Diana (Luther) McClain and the late Horace Johnson lll, and Harriett (Charles) Hayes of San Antonio, Tx. Sister-in-law of Leo (Marie) Severan, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Oakville Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; members of Pride of Oakville Chapter 149 Order of Eastern Star are invited to the Celebration of Life at Oakville Missionary Baptist Church, 100 W.
