Vernard Gene Manning, 85, of Concord, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 surrounded by his closest friends.Mr. Manning was born March 6, 1938 in Smyrna, South Carolina to the late Fulton Manning and the late Stella May Manning.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Kay Manning; and his daughter Kimberly Jean Totten.
Vernard retired from a long career in the military, and spent his time on his passions: Fishing and restoring his 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Vernard loved sitting on his back porch watching birds throughout the day.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at West Concord Cemetery, 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord, NC.
Survivors include brother, Carnell Manning, sister, Charleen (James) Pendergrass, sister, Virginia (Zeb) Starnes, Step-Son, Loye Efird, grandson, Jeremy Totten, friends and caregivers, John (Freda) Hathaway of Concord, NC.
