Veronica Ann Chauvin Cantrelle, of Ponchatoula, LA went to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Veronica was born on January 17, 1947, in Marrero, LA to Earlis and Dorothy Guilliot Chauvin.
Veronica grew up in Marrero, LA. She married the love of her life, Donald Peter Cantrelle, in June of 1964. They were married for 60 wonderful years and were blessed with a daughter and two sons.
Veronica was a long-time employee of Concordia Lutheran School in Marrero, LA, where she served as the school librarian. Later in life, Veronica and Donald moved to Carriere, MS to enjoy their retirement years. Veronica loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and often shared stories of their successes. She had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants and flowers. She had a special fondness for her Rooster collection and Red Cardinals. Veronica and Donald relocated back to Ponchatoula, LA in 2021 to live near their daughter.
Veronica is survived by her husband Donald Peter Cantrelle of Ponchatoula, LA, her daughter Heidi Jones (Warren) of Hammond, LA, son Ron Cantrelle of Lumberton, MS, and son Jamie Cantrelle of Carriere, MS. Grandmother of Andrew Jones (Courtney), Tori Jones Bermond (Christopher), Jessica Cantrelle Ackerman, Zyan Cantrelle (Nisha), Caitlyn Cantrelle Toscano (Travis), Erica Cantrelle Crochet (James), and Jamie Cantrelle, Jr. Great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren, with a pending arrival of Tori and Christopher’s baby Georgia. Sister of Yvonne Chauvin Powell Prestenbach and Denise Chauvin Burregi Schaffer (Kelly), and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents Earlis and Dorothy Guilliot Chauvin and sister Vanessa Chauvin Rodriguez (Marcel).
Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at noon at the Bagnell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, LA located at 75212 Hwy 437 (Lee Road).
Veronica will be interred at the Our Lady Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego, LA at a later date.

The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
