Veronica Laverne Clement was born on August 30, 1947, in
Madisonville, Kentucky to Cloyce Bradley Hicks and Connie Marie Hicks. She passed from this life on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in
Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years.
Veronica was raised and educated in Madisonville and graduated with the Madisonville High School Class of 1965. She was married to Reverend Joseph Carroll Hatfield and after he passed away, she later remarried to Reverend Willard Clement; making her a ministers wife for 49 years. When her children were young, Veronica was very involved in PTA and both president and vice president roles. She was also troop leader for Bradley's cub scout troop and Misti's brownies troop. For many years, Veronica was a World Book Encyclopedia sales manager. She also worked for H&R Block as a quality control editor. Veronica spent most of her working life teaching piano for over 50 years. She retired as a teacher at Haven Christian Academy in
Henderson, Kentucky after teaching voice, piano, and general studies for over fifteen years. She was a longtime faithful member of Haven Pentecostal Church in Henderson but had most recently been attending First Pentecostal Church in Collinsville, after moving to the area in 2018. In her spare time, Veronica enjoyed a variety of past times such as sewing, gardening, volunteering at church, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cloyce and Connie, son, Bradley, first husband, Reverend Joseph C. Hatfield and her late husband Reverend Willard Clement.
Those she leaves behind who hold many cherish memories include her children: Misti Frazier and husband Shane, Glenda Frederick and husband Tony, and Patty Wagoner and husband Phillip; 9 grandchildren: Cori Coke, Erin Hatfield, Sara Hatfield, Katie Fratanduono, Holly Minton, Nicolas Frederick, Joy Wagoner, Andrew Wagoner, and Katy Letner, 23 great-grandchildren, sister Sandra Cartwright and husband Elgin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Veronica's Life Celebration from 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Haven Pentecostal Church in
Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.
