Veronica "Ester" Pierson

Veronica Manawat Pierson, also known as Ester, was born on November 14, 1944, in Manila, Philippines. She passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 79 after struggling with several years of COPD and IPF. Ester lived in Indiana for over 50 plus years, where she made a lasting impact on those around her.

Ester had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies, including her love for playing Bingo, traveling, dancing, and selling Oriental (Filipino) food at fairs and special events around the Mid-West. One interesting fact about her was that she was the oldest of 18 siblings, showcasing her role as an elder and leader within her family.

Above all, Ester cherished time spent with her siblings, family and grandchildren and had a passion for family gatherings and cooking a feast for all to enjoy. She found joy in being surrounded by her loved ones and treasured those special moments.

Ester had a successful career as a Dental Tech at Indiana University Dental School for 34 years. Following her time there, she worked for several years at Therametric Technologies, Inc.

Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Ester was married to her soul mate, Stephen Pierson, for almost 60 years. Together, they built a strong and loving family. She is survived by her children Stephanie, Ligaya, and Jake, as well as her cherished grandchildren Trace, Blake, Abbey, Matthew, Lia, and Mia.

Ester will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, and loving nature. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Additionally, she was a proud member of the Filipino community, actively engaging in her cultural heritage. She was a devout Catholic and a proud parishioner of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church.

Veronica “Ester” Pierson's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through her family and the memories they shared together. May she rest in peace.
