Veronica "Tiny" Schneider, a cherished soul known for her warmth and generosity, passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 72. A resident of Lacombe, Louisiana, Veronica was born on June 25, 1952, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Veronica was the beloved daughter of the late Norman Schneider and Remelia Atlow Schneider. She grew up surrounded by the love and support of her siblings, Blanche Hammond, Margaret Johnson, Theresa Schneider, and the late Carl F. Schneider, Norman C. Schneider, Charles Schneider, and Anita Schneider. Her life was further enriched by her own family, including her children, Reginald Paul Schneider, Kristen Schneider Ray (Shaun Steven Ray Sr.), Colby Daniel Schneider (Anquinell Schneider), Misty Schneider, and the late Frederick Wilton Schneider and Randall Martin. Each of them carried a piece of Veronica's heart and her legacy of kindness. The family circle also includes her 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Chahta-Ima High School, Veronica's dedication to learning and personal growth was evident throughout her life. Her professional journey was marked by her time at Southeast Louisiana Hospital, where she was known for her compassionate care and unwavering work ethic. Veronica's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the owner of Lacombe Famous Pralines & Gumbo, a business that not only served delicious treats but also became a gathering place for the community she loved so dearly.
Veronica's interests and talents were many, but she was particularly renowned for her skill in crocheting blankets. These handcrafted creations were more than just items of warmth; they were symbols of her love, woven into every stitch. Her faith as a Baptist was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort and strength in times of need.
Throughout her life, Veronica's presence was a beacon of joy and hospitality. Her home was always open and her laughter a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who knew her. Her pralines and gumbo were not merely food but an expression of her soul, a way to share her heritage and her heart with every person who walked through her door.
Veronica's legacy is one of love, service, and the simple yet profound impact of living a life dedicated to others. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told by her family, the blankets that continue to provide comfort, and the recipes that will be passed down for generations.
