Veronica Eden Tucker

Veronica Eden Tucker, a much-loved wife, mother, sister and niece passed away suddenly on September 22, 2025, at the age of 60. She was born in San Diego, California and as the daughter of a U.S. Navy Petty Officer was well traveled as a child, living in Guam, New Orleans and Harvey, Louisiana and Vista, California. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Cynthia Terlaje Tucker and Ronald Tucker. She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel McCarthy, her loving children, Bridget and Brendan, sister Darcy Wasnock, brother-in-law David, nieces Ashlye, Amanda, her aunt Barbara Terlaje, sister-in-law Kelly McCarthy and niece Julia Class, and mother-in-law Marilyn McCarthy.

Veronica and Dan met in Vienna while studying abroad and married in 1993. Veronica was a 1987 graduate of the University of the Pacific, holding a degree in International Studies. She returned to New Orleans for several happy years before joining Dan in Boston in 1991, as he was starting the practice of law. While in Boston, she obtained a second bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts College of Art in Metalworking. She worked as a jewelry designer and housewares crafter in the Boston area before raising two wonderful children in Georgetown, Massachusetts. She was a frequent volunteer at St. Mary of the Assumption School and Austin Preparatory School, where both of her children attended. Veronica loved art, music and travel, visiting 28 countries on four continents.

After their children were off to college and overseas adventures, Dan and Veronica split their time between Ipswich, Massachusetts, and the city that Veronica loved more than any other place, New Orleans.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 am on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA, with visitation beginning at 10 am until service time.

In lieu of flowers, Veronica's family requests that a donation be made to the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, P.O. Box 202, Franklin, MA 02038, a charity which Veronica enthusiastically supported over the years.
