Veronica Lakios Cagney Webb, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Kentland, Indiana. She was born in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of the late Stephen Lakios and Veronica Murphy.Veronica lived a life centered on faith, family, and love. Her strong belief in God guided her through every season of life, and she carried that faith with quiet strength and grace. She was a devoted sister, mother, and grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone she met.
She is survived by her children, Annemarie Carlin and husband Shawn, Stephen Cagney and wife Amanda, Bernadette Reeves, and Andrew Cagney and wife Kim; her fourteen grandchildren; and her sister, Susan Elizabeth Lakios of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Lakios Krey; her daughter, Jennifer Cagney Clark; and her granddaughters, Arianna Cagney and Ashley Ricketts.
Her children and grandchildren were her greatest blessings, and she poured her heart into raising her family - always leading with patience, prayer, and unwavering love. Her faith was not only something she lived by, but something she shared - through her words, her example, and her open heart. Those who knew her will remember her kindness, her generosity, and her steady devotion to God and to the people she loved. Her legacy of faith and love will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren, in the traditions she passed down, and in the countless hearts she touched
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Veronica's medical team for their compassionate treatment and care throughout her journey, and especially in her final days.
Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM (CST) Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Kentland. Fr. Sean Aaron to officiate. Veronica will be laid to rest in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery located in Bordentown NJ.
