Beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt and Friend, Vickey was peacefully released from Alzheimer's dementia on July 16, 2025 at age 78.
Vickey was born in Tooele, Utah to Ned and Katherine (Lloyd) Boswell on March 8, 1947. Tooele was her home for 72 years, and she never stopped longing to return there the last few years of her life.
A member of the LDS Church, she graduated from Tooele High School in 1965 and married Brent Griffith Curry later that year, November 12. They welcomed five children - Holly, Brenda, Brett (Gabrielle), Aime, and Clint (Lance) - as well as 11 grandchildren: Stephanie, Brent David, Raechal, Sara, Jaren, Madalyn, Bailey, Kaden, Grace, Keaton, and Gannon, plus 10 great-grandchildren. Brent and Vickey's house on Kingston Circle was a gathering place for 40 years until Brent's passing in 2016.
Vickey was an excellent housekeeper and took pride in a clean, beautifully decorated home and pristinely-kept yard. Sunday dinners were more a rule than exception, and family and friends gathered throughout the year for holiday parties and summer barbecues. Roast with spaghetti, potato salad, rice pudding and orange-frosting cookies were just a few of her kitchen specialties.
Vickey had many friends throughout her life who cherished her and stayed in touch if distances became large. She touched their souls, made them laugh with her endearing and eccentric humor, and was a prime example of a hard worker. She also made many work friends while employed at EG&G of Tooele in the 1990s and CeramaTec of Salt Lake in the early 2000s.
In June 2022, Vickey remarried to David Maynard of Morgan, Utah, and gained two step-daughters Josiane and Andrea. Dave has displayed deep and consistent love for Vickey and her family, and counts his 7 years partnered to her as among the best of his life.
The Curry family wishes to extend their gratitude to the highly caring team of The Auberge at Aspen Park, Holladay, as well as Ovation Hospice for their end-of-life care, and Larkin Mortuary for Vickey's requested cremation.
Vickey is survived by her children and their posterity, as well as sister Marie (Jack) Vangrimbergen and Richard (Tunie) Boswell of Tooele, and noted cousin Shauna (Tuck) Curry of Bountiful, along with nine nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Brent, son-in-law Steven Hamilton, and grandson Brent David Hamilton.
Interment services for Vickey will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Tooele City Cemetery, 2:30 - 3pm, followed by a Remembrance of Life from 3-5 p.m. at The Pear Place, 311 S. Main Street, Tooele. If inclined, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at.
