Vicki J. Ashby, age 75, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late James Nelson and Jean (Kusler) Barnes, was born on September 27, 1949, in Madison. After graduating from Madison High School, she went to nursing school to become a licensed practical nurse. Over the years, she worked at the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, Silver Bell Nursing Home, and was in the laborer's union in Indiana and Massachusetts. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, watching Jeopardy, and shopping, especially at Costco. She was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Vicki was a very caring and compassionate woman who never met a stranger and would always stop to pet a dog.
