Vicki Barnes Obituary

Vicki Lynn (Schelski) Barnes, 62, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Vicki was born on September 29, 1961, in Houston, TX to Marion (Bo) and Elsie Carolyn (Carter) Schelski.
Vicki loved life and put up a hard fight against breast cancer over the past 17 years. She was very active in the Pensacola and also Baldwin County Alabama communities in promoting and raising funds for those in need.
Vicki leaves behind her mother Elsie Carolyn Carter; her loving husband, David Barnes; daughter, Jennifer (James) Kristie; and son, Thomas Barnes.
She lived on for her grandchildren. Her "Light of Hope" grandson, James Kristie, Jr, and her "Precious" little granddaughter who gave her those special little moments at the end, Gracie Lynn Barnes.
Also, her brother Rusty (Phyllis) Schelski; sister, Pam (Dale) Pennington; brother, Keith Fuller; brothers-in-law, Richard (Ann) Barnes, and Randall (Debbie) Barnes; and many nieces and nephews. Also, many past friends and loved ones of the Ballwey family.
There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite non-profit or ones that were special to Vicki's heart which are the food banks, Feeding the Gulf Coast or Prodisee Pantry and her one she had a very long relationship with the USO of NW Florida.
A special thanks to Dr Caluda, Dr. Joudeh, Dr. Bailey, and Dr. Jeffrey Smith who made her feel special toward the end talking about her being a one of a kind star in the galaxy of hope for future breast cancer survivors. Also, the staff at The Woodlands, ICU at West Florida Hospital, and Covenant Care who gave her that last wish and that was to go home to be with family.
