Vicki Lou Buda

Vicki passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 83. She was born on February 3, 1942 to the late Louis and Norma (McPhee) Stanley in Bay City. She loved to travel and enjoyed shopping wherever her journeys took her. She was an avid movie watcher and music lover, and could often be found relaxing with her favorite films or listening to songs she loved.

Vicki treasured time spent with family and friends, whether it was sharing stories, laughing together, or playing card games. She loved being outdoors, soaking up the sun, and going swimming. One of her greatest joys was her beloved dog, Molly, who was always close to her heart.

Vicki is survived by her children, Peter (Sook Yi) Diaz, Eva Peplinski, Rebecca Diaz (Lupe Gonzales) and Anna (Daniel) Hickey; grandchildren, Ryan (Nyki) Peplinski, Peter (Ashley) Diaz, Joseph (Jane) Diaz, Briana (Roberto) Ramirez Esquivel and Connor Hickey (Kylie Zhang); great grandchildren, Cassidy, Zoe, Ruby, Jonah, Aria, June, Olivia and Mia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Peter Diaz; late husband, Edward Buda; committed partner, Jerry Rigg and son-in-law, Randy Peplinski.

Funeral service for Vicki will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home with a private interment to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Charles Campbell. The family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Vicki’s name to Bay County Animal Services and Adoption Center.
