It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vicki Loraine Gable, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Vicki left this world on July 3, 2024, in
Moore, Oklahoma at the age of 74. Vicki was born on June 24, 1950, in Missouri. Her presence was a beautiful light in the lives of those who knew her.
Vicki was the cherished daughter of Billy Dean Phipps and Rozella Burch Phipps of
Moore, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rozella Phipps, her beloved brother Jimmy Phipps, stepmother Pat Coulter-Phipps and her faithful companions, Gabby and Bo, her much-loved dogs.
Vicki's journey in life was marked by her vibrant personality and her kind and generous heart. She was a proud graduate of Moore High School, Class of 1968. After high school, she pursued her passion for beauty by attending beauty school and working as a hairstylist for a short time. Her career path then led her to a dedicated 31-year position at Tinker Air Force Base as a Defense Logistics expert. Throughout her career, Vicki received multiple awards and accolades. She retired from Tinker AFB in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and commitment.
She was an active member of Regency Park Baptist Church, where she attended the Ladies Sunday School Class. Vicki's life was rich with interests and hobbies that reflected her zest for life. She had a love for shopping and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a Diet Coke. She delighted in going out to eat with her friends from high school and cherished playing cards with her cousins. Her home was adorned with gnomes, lions, frogs, and many pictures of her family. She was also a passionate fan of Oklahoma Sooners football. She created cherished memories with her children by going out to eat and camping when they were younger and held a special place in her heart for Cattlemen's Steakhouse, where she celebrated many birthdays and Mother's Days. She also had a deep appreciation for Classic Rock and loved listening to it on her favorite radio station, KOMA. Vicki's personality was marked by her outgoing nature, loving spirit and generosity. She never met a stranger and had a beautiful soul that touched many lives.
Vicki is survived by her loving son, Michael Gable and wife Sara Gable of Paradise, California; her devoted daughter, Roni Brown and husband Kevin Gilbreath of
Moore, Oklahoma; her loving sister, Billie Meek and husband Larry Meek of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; stepsister Karen Coulter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was also a proud Granny to Braden, Brantley, Danielle, Kelcey, Brianna, Hailey, Maddisun, Kynzee, Jimmy, Allyson and Jamie, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Vicki Loraine Gable's legacy is one of immense love, unwavering kindness, and an indomitable spirit. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful soul and the joy she brought into the world. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
