Vicki Lynn Kolpack, 66, of Bowler, died on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Dimensions Living of Rib Mountain, Wisconsin.
Vicki was born on July 2, 1959, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Merton and Marjorie (Larsen) Dahring. Vicki spent her first two years of school at a two-room country school near Vergas, MN. She received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead and her master's degree in Library Sciences from UW–Madison. Afterwards, she was the Librarian at Bowler School District for 30 years.
Vicki met the love of her life, Curtis, in 1986 on a blind date set up by the then Ag teacher at Bowler. They were joined in marriage on April 21, 1990, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowler.
Vicki was dedicated to being a librarian. She loved reading to the younger children and inspiring them to enjoy reading. Vicki was treasurer for the PTCO at Bowler School District and a member of the local FFA alumni. She also ran the book fair at the school every year.
When Vicki wasn't at school, she would help on the family farm. She and Curtis raised beautiful Guernsey heifers and cows. Vicki also worked hard to care for her flower gardens and veggie gardens every summer. In the summer and fall, she canned many jars of rhubarb sauce, applesauce, apple pie filling, and peaches, and froze fresh-picked strawberries.
Vicki had a soft spot for the calves, her dogs, and especially for her cats. She always carried one cat on her shoulders while she helped with milking the cows. In the winter, you could always find a cat snuggled up against her inside her winter coat. Vicki enjoyed gardening, reading books, crocheting, and genealogy.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Curtis; two sons, Bradley Kolpack and Kevin Kolpack; sister, Pamela (Mark) Tessmer; brother, Jim (Misty) Dahring; brother and sisters-in-law, Keith (Lynn) Kolpack, Chana (Al) Chechik and Jeannine Carpenter; nieces and nephews, Matt (Sara) Kolpack, Pete (Lindsey) Kolpack, Sara Kolpack, Matt (JoJo) Tessmer, Ryan Tessmer, Brianna (Cody) Lawrence, Lauri Wilson and Kristin Wilson; great niece and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Marjorie; her daughter, Rose; and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowler. Rev. Walter Gilkey will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Almon. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
