Vicki Ann Dishong Sprigg, 78, of Barhamsville Virginia, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born March 19, 1947, daughter of Martin Preston Dishong and Mary Ruth Brown Dishong.
Vicki attended
Everett, Pennsylvania schools and graduated from Everett Area High School in 1965. She participated in the band and played flute and clarinet. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the Drama Club. She delivered an amusing performance of Aunt Martha in Arsenic and Lace. She participated in Caduceys Club, serving as a Candy Striper at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Girl Scouts and attended Everett United Methodist Church. As a teenager, she worked part-time at Dairy Dell, Snyders gateway and then for Transcon Trucking Company before getting married and moving to Williamsburg Virginia.
Vicki married Robert Marshall Sprigg of Bedford, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1966. The have three children; Robin Sprigg (Ebert) of
Charlotte, NC., Randy Sprigg, formerly of
Quinton, VA., and Roger Sprigg of
Williamsburg, VA.
Vicki worked full time for the Daily press, Colonial Williamsburg, the College of William & Mary, and then had a long and fulfilling career with James City County. While working full-time, Vicki kept a spotless house, cooked dinner every night, served on the PTA Council and served two, four-year terms on the Williamsburg-James City County School Board. She made every holiday and birthday a special event. She even managed to find time for sewing, cross-stitch, gardening, baking and traveling to Pennsylvania to see family. She was an active member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Vicki was blessed with six grandchildren with whom she loved to read, color, craft and snuggle. In retirement she assisted Bob with his sausage business by baking bread and pies and knitting scarves to sell at the Farmers Markets in Toano and Yorktown VA. Vicki continued to craft, cross-stitch and knit. She loved reading scripture, Harry Potter and books recommended by family and friends. She loved watching her Pittsburgh Steelers play on Sundays.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Dishong, her son; Randy Martin Sprigg, her grandson; Charles Shannon Sprigg, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins of 59 years.
Vicki is survived by her husband Robert Sprigg of
Williamsburg, VA., her daughter; Robin Sprigg Ebert (Andy) of
Charlotte, NC., and their children; Samantha and Kristin, her son Randy Sprigg's children; Savannah Sprigg Vilt (Mason) of
Yorktown, VA., Abby Sprigg of
Quinton, VA., her son Roger Sprigg (Carey) of
Williamsburg, VA., and their children Jacob and Ryan, her great-grandson Meyer William Vilt, her sister Vivian Dishong Reffner (Rodney) of
Everett, PA and their children Corey (Mia), Amy, and Jason (Amanda) and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later time to be determined by Vicki's family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
St. Jude’s or to Child Development resources of James City County.
