Vicki Gail Washburn, 72, of Center Point, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. Inurnment will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Troy Mills Cemetery in Troy Mills, Iowa. The family will host a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point.
Vicki was born on August 25, 1952, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Eugene and Audrey (Hess) Kiefer. She attended Jefferson High School and later Kirkwood Community College. On September 12, 1970, she married Duane Lester Washburn in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Vicki worked for 11½ years at Triangle Plastics in Winthrop, Iowa, answered phones for Telecom, and was a waitress at Delmonico’s in Center Point. She was willing to help anyone, regardless of who they were, and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing games, especially slot games on her computer, and was known for speaking her mind in any situation.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Duane Washburn of Center Point; daughter, Kelly (Michael) Shuniak of Center Point; son, Todd Washburn of Shellsburg, Iowa; grandchildren, Alexis Shuniak of Center Point, Bailey Washburn of Shellsburg, Bradlee Kurtz of Ames, Iowa, and MaKayla Washburn of Cedar Rapids; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Bingham and Lynlee Bingham, both of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Dawn (Jim) Hilleshiem of Center Point, Karen (Gary) Zigler of Cedar Rapids, Bonnie Fitzpatrick of Fairfax, Iowa, Judy McMurrin of Concrete, Washington, Wanita (Bill) McNabb of Stanwood, Iowa, and Cheryl Lund of Palm Desert, California; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Audrey Hess Kiefer; brother, Daryl Kiefer; sister, Donna Olson; niece, Lori Washburn Reid; and nephews, Brian McMurrin and James Abernathy.
