Vickie Leigh Bassham, age 67, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Maury Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 1, 1957, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Milton V. Brown and Elizabeth Scanlan Brown. Vickie devoted her life to taking care of her beloved daughter, Amber Leigh Bassham. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching murder mysteries, and crafting. She had a true servant’s heart and loved helping people, this led to a lifelong career as a unit secretary for Maury Regional Medical Center for thirty-four years. She also worked at Marshall Medical Center for seven years before she retired. Vickie was loved tremendously and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sister, Kathey (Marc) Miller, step daughters, Heather Adams and Gina Farris, cousins, Karen Bevan, Debbie Dillard, numerous friends and other family members, and her beloved dog, Abby.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee “Boo” Bassham in 2019.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to Maury Magic Riders or to the Maury County Animal Shelter.
