William Edward Brown, age 72, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. Born on December 17, 1952, in Columbia, Tennessee, William—affectionately known by many as Charlie and Billy—was the son of the late Herman Brown and the late Marjorie Bell Brown. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of seventeen and stayed in the Army for twenty years where he retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class. While stationed in Vietnam, he met and married Chau Seral in 1971. Upon returning to the United States, they celebrated an American wedding in 1972.

After the military, he bought and drove a semi until he was fifty-two, a career he truly enjoyed. He found joy in country music and could often be found working on cars. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Edward R. Brown, Jeannie (Mark) Caldwell, Angelina (Brett) Gleason, grandchildren, Caitlin Caldwell, Caleb Caldwell, Cassie Caldwell, Savannah Brown, Arthur Gleason, Richie Gleason, great granddaughter, Millie Henderson, and brothers, David Brown, Timothy Brown, and Kenneth Brown.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Freddy Brown, Ricky Brown, infant sister, Tammy Brown, and daughter in law, Kym Brown.
