With immense sadness, we announce the passing of Rhonda Gayle Bassham, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who left us peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 68.
Rhonda was born on May 11, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Roy G. Kearns and Mearyetta (Holden) Kearns. She worked as a Special Education Teacher's Aide at James Bowie Elementary School in Weatherford, Texas, for many years, significantly impacting the students she taught. She made many lifelong friends and was a member of Willow Park Baptist Church. Rhonda enjoyed the beach, dancing, and spending time with friends. Above all else, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and George Kearns; her grandmother, Nina Glover; her grandparents, Estelle and John Dunlap Kearns; and her brother, Roy Kearns.
She is survived by her daughters, Delyssa DeClue and her husband, Justin, of Klein, Texas, and Shelley Senger and her husband, Randall, of Fort Worth, Texas. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Sydney Burford and her husband, Cole; Brycen Pollard and Rylee Pitter; Blayne Senger; Mallory Casey; and Blake Senger.
Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Darla Drake and her husband, John, of Naples, Texas; Dedra Vick and her husband, Charley, of Weatherford, Texas; Dana Freeman and her husband, Danny, of Brock, Texas; and Mary Harris and her husband, Todd, of Saginaw, Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. Both events will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, located at 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. Immediately after the service, burial will take place at Poolville Cemetery in Poolville, Texas.
