Funeral services celebrating the life of Vickie Jean Fyffe, 63, of Longview, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home in Gilmer, Tx. Family and friends are invited to visit beginning at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. service.
Vickie was born on December 1, 1961, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Gary and Martha Smith Norman. She went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2025, passing away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Vickie's life was a beautiful reflection of love, family, friendship, and joy. She met the love of her life, Everett Edward Fyffe, and together they built a lifetime of cherished memories. After marrying, they moved to Texas, where they raised two wonderful children. Watching Jennifer and Michael grow into successful adults and start families of their own brought her more happiness than words could ever express.
When she became a grandmother-lovingly known as "Mimi"-her heart grew even fuller. She was an active and devoted grandparent who never missed an opportunity to be part of her grandchildren's lives. Whether it was a school program, dance recital, award ceremony, or sporting event, Mimi was always there. Her joyful cheers and proud smile could always be found on the sidelines, and her support meant the world to her family.
Vickie loved to travel and never turned down the chance to experience something new. She enjoyed taking cruises with her siblings and checking off places from her bucket list, from the beaches of Hawaii to the breathtaking views of Alaska. She lived life to the fullest and embraced every adventure that came her way with excitement and gratitude.
For more than 40 years, Vickie worked for Kroger Grocery, where she formed countless lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike. She was known for her kindness, her dedication, and the light she brought into the store every day. Her close-knit group of friends, affectionately called "The Kroger Girls," shared a special bond. They celebrated life's milestones together, enjoyed movie nights, and took memorable trips to Beavers Bend, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Vickie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother whose kind spirit and warm heart touched everyone who knew her. She had a heart that seemed to stretch wider than the sky, always giving without hesitation, loving without limits, and bringing joy wherever she went. She had a special way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved, even on their hardest days.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Marie Morvan and husband Eric; her son, Michael Everett Fyffe and wife Thais Torress Fyffe; her parents, Gary and Martha Norman; and her brothers, Wayne Norman and Bill Norman. She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren - Liam Dean Morvan, Madelyn Torress Fyffe, Jack Everett Morvan, and Michael Andrew Torress Fyffe, who brought endless happiness to her life.
Vickie is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Everett Edward Fyffe.
Those who knew Vickie will remember her for her laughter, her compassion, and the way she made every person feel special. Her love continues to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
